Nachdem ich hier eine Weile nichts geschrieben hab, möchte ich kurz über das kleine Kunstprojekt an meiner Zimmerwand berichten: nachdem ich im Netz auf ein Blog gestoßen bin, bei dem jemand über ein Post-It Mosaik mit Elvis Presley als Motiv berichtete, kam mir eine ähnliche Idee für das erst kürzlich bezogene Zimmer. Ich wollte allerdings nicht jeden Morgen einem toten Musiker ins Gesicht blicken, darum entschied ich mich für eine hübsche Frau – Kirsten Dunst. Eine Suche im Netz förderte ein brauchbares Foto zutage, welches nun in 11-farbiger 50 x 35 „Pixel“-Pracht an meiner Wand hängt:

Ab und zu werfe ich einen Blick in meinen Spammail-Ordner, eigentlich nur um zu schauen, ob nicht aus Versehen eine normale Email fälschlicherweise dort gelandet ist. Allein zur Unterhaltung klicke ich auch gelegentlich die ein oder andere Mail dort an, und heute wurde ich reich belohnt: offensichtlich wollte jemand seinen Viagra-Shop kundenfreundlicher machen und jagte den Großteil der Texte durch einen autmatischen Übersetzer. Das Ergebnis ist ein Pimp-My-Auto Shop mit eingebrannten Entsprechungen. 😉
Es geht langsam auf die Prüfungen zu, darum hab ich im Moment auch kaum Zeit, hier was zu machen… und wenn doch, dann bastel ich lieber an meinem Magic-Kartenordner oder spiel Trackmania. 😀 Ich sollte mal eine „Anderes“-Kategorie einbauen…
If you’re a web-developer, you probably came across the pretty useful Firefox add-on „LiveHTTPHeaders„, which allows you to monitor, replay and even modify the headers your browser sends to the webserver. Unfortunately, there’s been a bug in it for now more than a year that prevents you from modifying HTTP POST requests – you always get a „Request entity too large!“ response, due to duplicate Content-Type headers. After having to patch the add-on for several times, (because every „new“ version of LiveHTTPHeaders breaks it again, which doesn’t happen too often, fortunately) I decided to upload a quick fix for this problem.

Having just bought the new Razer Lycosa keyboard, I unfortunately ran into the same problems as many others did. For me the shift and backspace-keys only worked occasionally and the backlight was considerably darker in the center of the keyboard. Placing a coin on the Razer-mediakey seemed to help, but now I was unable to use any other media buttons, or the Windows-key, and one of the reasons I bought this particular keyboard (besides its awesome feeling :D) were the mediakeys.
With the store having closed and me not wanting to return it, I read from someone who claimed that he just opened his keyboard und tinkered a bit with the plugs inside, which fixed his Lycosa. So I gave it a try – and it worked! I’ve taken some photos while working and will try to recount every step I made, so you can fix your keyboard too. The actual problem seems to be a screw that prevents the touchpad-plug to fully connect to the main chip board, which screws up some major functions like sending input „signals“ longer than a few milliseconds.
Update [11. July]: It seems like Razor finally realized, that many of their keyboards have this problem and offer replacements now. To quote one of the comment authors:
There is no need to ship our Lycosas back: it looks like the Razer team is replacing every keyboard just after veryfing yours is one of the ~not properly working~ Lycosas. I just got their answer:
“We have verified that your Lycosa is one of the units affected by the known issues. We apologize for the trouble you have had with the Razer Lycosa and the inconvenience this has caused you. We have made arrangements for a new Lycosa to be sent to your address. ”
